Here we go again....

Two years ago Cathy and I set out on a journey to bring home a teenage boy with cerebral palsy from Ukraine. We jumped through all the hoops and by the grace of God we arrived in Kiev with high hopes and great expectations. Ten days later we were headed home empty handed and broken hearted. Our almost son decided to stay in Ukraine, thinking and planning at such a young age, that his future was brighter there. To this day we stay in touch with him and while his path has not been an easy one, there is at least hope.

Fast forward two years and here we are again, ready and eager to embark on another journey to a different country for another child in need. We are again hopeful and trusting completely in the providence of the Almighty to bring this adoption to fruition. Our three boys are excited about having a little sister and Nadia will have a small army of her own to command when she finally arrives. They will love, help, protect, cherish, and watch over her as big brothers are supposed to do. Many plans have already been made as the boys have begun to explore creative ways to help her over come her physical challenges. There is no doubt that she will receive the lion’s share of attention in this household, but no one is complaining.

Nadia is a beautiful, charming, and sweet little girl who is making great strides in her ability to walk, speak, and even learn English; she just needs more one-on-one time and attention. She will benefit enormously from having her own home and family with resources that will help her grow and overcome her less than ideal start in life. She is a radiant child who needs the hope of a family and the shared love of Christ so that her warmth and enthusiasm never fades. The whole family is eager to bring her home and are aware that her presence will have a profound and radical impact on each of us.

Please pray for us as we continue along this exciting path that God has laid before us as we undertake Mission:Nadia.
